VegaLab Ventures is founded by Rose Chen, with an extensive background in finance, strategy, corporate development, professional investing, and executive coaching. She serves as an advisor for Stanford Cardinal Ventures, Stanford University Office of Technology Licensing (OTL), strategic investors and growth companies in Silicon Valley.

Prior to founding VegaLab Ventures, Rose had various leadership and operating roles in data analytics, enterprise software and mobile, health, fin-tech and media, providing recommendations and oversight to the Board and leading critical technology projects. As an investment professional, Rose was instrumental in leading and supporting investments in ESPN classic,, and other technology, media and retail services companies at IMG/Chase Equity Partners. She also facilitated and structured M&A transactions for healthcare (Columbia HCA), education technology and consumer brands (Mattel).

Rose serves on the Board of Kara as Board Treasurer and on the Board of  CAC Foundation. She also serves as a Board observer for growth companies and was a Board member of Hushtunnel.  Previously, she served as a Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteer for children in San Francisco, and a mediator at Contra Costa County Superior Court.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley and Master’s Degree in Engineering Economics and Operations Research from Stanford University. Rose was a Fellow at Columbia University’s Earth Institute for Sustainable Investing. She is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), a certified mediator, and holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Rose is fluent in English, Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese.
