VegaLab Ventures is founded by Rose Chen, with an extensive background in technology investments, strategy, global partnerships and executive coaching. She serves as an advisor for Stanford Cardinal Ventures, Stanford University Office of Technology Licensing (OTL), strategic investors including corporate ventures/PE firms and growth ventures in Silicon Valley.
Rose held various leadership and operating roles in data analytics, enterprise software, digital health, fintech and industrial internet of things, providing recommendations and oversight to the Board and leading critical technology initiatives in digital transformation. Most recently at GE digital, she was responsible for developing a scalable framework with global technology and industrial partners in the emerging markets. As an investment professional, Rose was instrumental in leading and supporting investments in ESPN classic Europe (exit to ESPN), tickets.com (IPO), sports.com (exit to CBS Sportsline), media and technology ventures at IMG/Chase Equity Partners. She also facilitated and structured M&A transactions for healthcare (Columbia HCA), edtech and consumer brands (Mattel).
Rose serves on the Board of Kara as Board Treasurer. She also serves on the Board for growth companies and was a Board member of Hushtunnel and CAC Foundation. Previously, she served as a Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteer for children in San Francisco, and a mediator at Contra Costa County Superior Court.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley and Master’s Degree in Engineering Economics and Operations Research from Stanford University. Rose was a Fellow at Columbia University’s Earth Institute for Sustainable Investing. She is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), a certified mediator, and holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Rose is fluent in English, Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese.
